Recommended Vendors

I deeply believe that a great support system is a game changer when it comes to really important events like your wedding day. The vendors that you choose for your day can lift you up and take all of your worries away. We’re here to do our job and do it really well, so you can sit back and enjoy this day that can feel like an absolute dream. The purpose is to celebrate your love with the love of your life. Let us do the rest. Below are my personal recommended vendors.

My business was built in Southern California, where most of my family currently resides. I currently live in the PNW, and I travel all over the world for weddings. You’ll see where each vendor is located + if they’re available for travel in my personal recommendations below.

Recommended Vendors

I always love helping couples find the best vendors for their wedding day. By creating this page, I wanted it to be used as a resource to personally recommend the vendors that I refer the most. I have personally worked with each of these vendors and I trust in how they run their businesses. There is no doubt in me that they will take care of you and prioritize your needs. Toggle open the sections you’re looking for to read my recommendations!

Planners/Coordinators:

Emerald Engagements
Elopement & Wedding Coordinator based in Seattle, WA

Carly is my go-to girl. In the beginning of 2020, we teamed up to offer micro wedding packages together. We’ve worked together for couples who have had to pivot their dream wedding and needed help creating an event just as special to them. She believes that even the small details are significant. Carly and her team specialize in hands-on creative direction and full-service wedding and event design, planning and styling. You can read more about Emerald Engagements via this vendor spotlight post.

Tapestry Event Co
Adventurous Elopement & Wedding Coordinator based in Seattle, WA

Kate is a genius. She is incredibly personable and reliable. She is also an officiant, so if you’re getting married on a mountain top and need help planning + have someone there to do the legal stuff, she’s your girl. Her goal is to walk along side of you and amplify the personality and soul signature that makes your love unique. At the same time, she is also there to quiet the voice of “would,” “should,” and convention. She wants your celebration to be joyfully you. Kate and her team joined up with me to offer a resource to couples on how to write your own personal vows.

Simply Planned Events
Wedding Coordinator based in Seattle, WA

Hannah is great to work with! Up and coming in the wedding world, for sure. Her goal is to make everything easy for her couples – and you KNOW how much I vibe with that. I got to work along side of her for Sara & Tom’s reception and she truly made their vision come to life!

Holly Kalkin
Wedding Coordinator based in California & Arizona

Holly is one of the sweetest people I’ve ever met. I worked a wedding along side of her in San Diego and every single time I turned around to find her, there she was. Holly was always ready and willing to answer any questions I had and support me in any way I needed. She’s one of the best teammates I’ve ever had on a wedding day. Everything ran smoothly and was stress-free for the couple, because Holly was in full control. Holly offers full and partial planning services, as well as month-of and week-of coordination.

Jen Events
Wedding Coordinator based in Southern California

Ah, Jenny was my wedding coordinator and I absolutely adore her and her family. She is well organized and looks out for what you need and prioritize. She is such a calm presence that we could all use a little more of on a big wedding day. Nothing gives Jenny more joy than to be involved in one of the happiest days of a person’s life, and that’s the energy and vibe that I love to be around.

The Yes Girls
Proposal planners

If you’re planning to propose but need a little help, The Yes Girls are here to help make the process super seamless for you. They create personalized proposals specifically curated for you and your relationship. They bring on the vendors for you that you need (Hi! I’m one of their photographers) and all you have to do is show up and pop the question! They also designed The Box Sock to help keep that ring easily hidden out of sight. These ladies can help you plan from afar.

Officiants:

Cherise, Another One Ties The Knot
Officiant based in the PNW

Cherise is one of a kind and such a lovely soul. Getting the chance to listen to how a couple’s love story develops and finding ways to incorporate their unique style into their ceremony makes Cherise so happy. She is always looking forward to meeting with new couples and creating the perfect start for the next chapter in their lives. I’m always looking forward to her new Instagram posts because you can see the authenticity through her captions.

Jimmie, Adventure Elopement Officiant
Officiant based in the PNW

Jimmie is the best, and his Instagram game is on point. He essentially shares exactly what I think our industry is needing after such a heartbreaking year: Celebrating love stories with a little bit of laughter, a smidge of dark humor (my fave), and a whole lot of love. If you are planning your perfect day and looking for an adventure elopement officiant, Jimmie is your guy. He personally connects with each couple he works with. He also comes highly recommended by so many vendors in the industry. You really can’t go wrong! You can read more about Jimmie via this vendor spotlight post.

Carolyn, Oregon Beach Ceremonies
Officiant based in the Oregon Coast

Based at the Oregon Coast, Officiant Carolyn is incredibly talented. She creates a beautiful and custom ceremony for the couples she works with and marries. Being a local, she knows the ins and outs of the coast. This knowledge is gold when it comes to finding the perfect ceremony location for your elopement or wedding. The reviews on her website confirm the priceless services she provides. Her love for what she does is unmatched. You can read her vendor spotlight here.

Hair & Makeup Artists:

Sarah Ren, Sarah Ren Hair and Makeup Artist
Hair & makeup artist based in Seattle, WA

Sarah Ren is incredibly friendly. I’ve worked with her personally and professionally and she never seizes to amaze me. She offers on-location airbrush and traditional makeup. As well as hair styling and men’s grooming.

Michelle Wight Hair & Makeup Artist
Hair & makeup artist based in Seattle, WA

Michelle and her team approach each wedding as a new, unique opportunity to serve their clients well. They see hair and makeup as a collaboration with those they’re serving and I absolutely love that. I’ve worked lots of weddings with Michelle. The first thing that stands out to me watching her work is how kind and genuine she is with her clients. But we’re also ALWAYS running on time, which is so so helpful on a wedding day. Read her vendor spotlight here.

Lauren, Seattle Beauty Boss
Hair & makeup artist based in Seattle, WA

Lauren is always on my referral list for my local Seattle couples looking for a mobile hair and makeup artist. I even hired her myself for a recent anniversary session. For someone like me who basically never wears a lot of makeup, she made me feel glam and flawless but not too over-the-top. I felt like an absolute goddess. Read her vendor spotlight here.

Aryka, Vivid Chromatics
Hair & makeup artist based in Portland, OR

Aryka knows her ‘ish. She was the hair and makeup artist for me and my bridesmaids on my wedding day. Aryka really listened to what I wanted and understood my vision. She was on time and was able to personally connect with everyone in the room. Aryka is truly passionate about helping her clients look and feel their best on their most important days, and it really shows.

Svglamour
Hair stylist in Southern California

Sara specializes in loose, boho hairstyles (although has definitely mastered traditional styles as well). Her styling was like a work of art. Sara was professional, calm, and ended her services on time.

Lindsay Ann
Makeup Artist in Southern California

Being in a room with with Lindsay was inviting and stress-free. Lindsay offers both airbrushing as well as traditional makeup. She provides her brides this effortless look that doesn’t feel or look heavy, yet lasts all day.

NOTE: Lindsay and Sara actually teamed up together for a wedding I photographed in San Diego. They were a DREAM TEAM.

Videographers:

Ochoa Wedding Films, Nathan Ochoa
Destination Elopement & Wedding Videographer

I’m a little bias because, yes, Nathan is my husband. He’s also the best teammate I could ever ask for when it comes to a wedding day. We’ve been documenting weddings together for nearly a decade. At the end of 2018, he wanted to step out and officially launch his videography business – and did. And is killing it. I couldn’t be more thrilled that I get to work along side of him in a whole new way, documenting both photo and video for couples all around the world.

Happy Camper Films
Destination Elopement & Wedding Videographers

Based in Kentucky, Allison and Tyler are a couple after my own heart. They’re currently living in a 35ft RV with their golden retriever, traveling the world and documenting stories. They travelled to Portland, OR to film our wedding, and the raw beauty they captured for us was truly unreal. I’ll forever be grateful for how they took the time to get to know us before our wedding day. I appreciated their attention to detail and being such a calm presence in the middle of our whirlwind.

Florists:

Tangled Roots Floral Company
Based in Seattle, WA

Adina isn’t afraid of using color, which I absolutely love. Her focus is primarily on smaller, intimate celebrations, elopements, and mini-ceremonies, although she does take on a limited number of large events each year. Adina’s natural design aesthetic is textural, romantic and full of fresh natural greenery, just like you’d find in a PNW garden.

Goldenrod Floral Designs
Based in Seattle, WA

Previously known as Rusted Vase. Carlee creates gorgeous, whimsical floral designs that make me swoon. Her work truly speaks for itself.

Love Blooms
Based in Seattle, WA

I LOVE working a wedding and seeing Katrina (or someone from her team) arrive with a flower delivery. Always a fun surprise. Her designs are classic and timeless.

Artists & Stationary Designers:

The vendors below I believe add so much value to telling the story of your wedding day. These little personal touches definitely won’t go unnoticed by your guests, and can help your wedding day feel incredibly unique (as it should!)

Whether it’s a customized illustration to help visually celebrate your love story or beautiful calligraphy for all the signage and stationary of your wedding day – these are the people who have the magic touch.

Honest Calligraphy
Based in Seattle, WA

Taylor #1 has a great name. #2 is a powerhouse. Beautiful designs with such a timeless and yet modern aesthetic.

Art By Elina
Based in Seattle, WA

Amazingly talented Elina is a live wedding pieces of art. I’ve seen her at work in person at a wedding I was working and holy cow she’s incredible. The guests were also incredibly intrigued and were excited to see the final product before the end of the night was over.

Orange & Melrose
Based in Southern California

Lela is a talented artist and designer. She does custom chalk installations that I absolutely am in awe over. Lela also offers personalized illustrations and wedding invitations.

MEB Calligraphy
Based in Arizona

Creative, innovative, and dedicated. Taylor (great name lol) loves to create signage and stationery that has a meaningful purpose. She loves for her couples to be able to repurpose their signs to use in their own homes.

DJs & Entertainment:

Let’s be real here. DJ’s and emcee’s can make or break your wedding reception.

The music choice, yes, but it’s also the vibe and the ability to read the room. It’s also all about collaboration – rolling with the punches of having a timeline that’s possibly running late, or a deadline before photo/video coverage comes to an end. Navigating that while making sure the couple and their guests are having a really great time is like an art in itself.

It’s important to notice what people are responding to and being able to switch it up, add in formal reception events, all while keeping the party going. These are the DJ’s that I highly recommend for wedding receptions who can do all of that, and more.

  • Blue Wave Band: Live music based in Seattle, WA
  • Orion Entertainment: DJ and emcee based in Seattle, WA
  • DJ Rocryte: DJ based in Seattle, WA
  • Tyler Stenson: Singer/songwriter based in Portland, OR
  • Brandon Bosch, The Celebration DJ: Based in Northern California
  • Excellent Entertainment International: Based in Southern California
  • The Mighty Untouchables: Live band based in Southern California

This list is ever-changing as I get to know more talented business owners.

Becoming a better photographer is not what I expec Becoming a better photographer is not what I expected.

I thought becoming a better photographer meant more gear, more experience, more weddings under my belt. And sure, those things matter. But the stuff that actually changed how I work? It was quieter than that.

It was noticing the way shadows move across a curtain in the morning. Learning to see light before I ever pick up a camera.

It was recognizing who I’m actually for. Saying no to the wrong clients felt risky at first. But it made room for the ones where everything just clicks, and that’s when the best work happens.

It was finding people who love this work as much as I do. Photographers who want to talk about the craft, push each other, and love to think bigger.

It was learning how to lead. Building an associate team in 2020 meant I had to articulate things I’d always just felt intuitively. Putting that into words, into training, into trust, has made me a better photographer and a better collaborator.

It was getting in a room with florists and planners and designers outside of wedding days, just to create. Styled shoots showed me what my vendors are truly capable of, and that changes everything about how I collaborate on the real thing.

It was getting the business right. When communication, pricing, and contracts are solid, I show up on a wedding day with a clear head. The back end of this job has more impact on the work than most people want to admit.

It was staying curious. About the craft, about what inspires me outside of this industry, and about the people I photograph. The more I understand my clients and their guests, the more I can anticipate real moments before they happen. Knowing how to read people ended up being just as important as knowing how to read light.

And then there’s time. Not just years logged, but learning to get out of my own head. To stop second guessing the shot I already took and start trusting that my eye brought you there for a reason. That quiet confidence took longer to build than any technical skill.

Growth doesn’t always show itself in big milestones. It’s the unexpected moments that has shaped me the most.
Ambiance isn’t something you add at the end. It’s Ambiance isn’t something you add at the end.

It’s the millions of little decisions like hanging chandeliers instead of string lights. Or filling a tent with candlelight so warm it makes everyone look like they’re glowing.

It’s the thing guests can’t name but feel the moment they walk in.

When a room is designed with that kind of intention, it shows up in the photos. Not in an obvious way, just in the way everything feels a little more… alive.

If you’re building a wedding around how people will experience it, we’d love to be the ones trusted to document that experience.

As wedding photographers, we are dedicated to telling your love story and the documentation of your day as it unfolds. Of course, we do this for the joy and celebration as we feel it right now.

But we also always remember that one day, this day will become a distant memory and your photos is what will help you share and remember.

When that day comes, what moments might you cherish the most?

Catholic wedding ceremonies take me back to when I first started photography 16 years ago. I appreciate the rhythm of tradition from generations coming together in quiet moments of reflection and love.

Whether your wedding day is rooted in tradition or something entirely your own, your day should feel true to you.

And we’ll meet you there.

Seriously one of the highest compliments to ever receive from a wedding client is a raving review of your work. We are so passionate about documenting the beautiful portraits and sought after moments, but also the candid and impactful moments, too. To hear that our clients treasure these images as much as we treasure the art documenting them, is our dream come true.

Guess who’s back? 🙋‍♀️ Motherhood is a mix of ev Guess who’s back?

🙋‍♀️

Motherhood is a mix of every day feeling long and slow along with every day flying by so fast, I can barely keep up with the changes. It’s rewarding and overwhelming and scary and magical all at once.

My maternity leave has officially ended and though I truly am sad to not sit and stare at my little guy’s face 24/7, it also feels really good to work again.

Like a piece of me has been found once again.

But now I’m feeling rejuvenated, reinspired (get it?), and my brain is so full of soooo many ideas. ✨

I had never ever ever gone this long without working (seriously, I’ve been a business owner since I was 16 years old). 6 months off has felt like a lifetime for me lol.

I can’t wait to see what we get to create together in the season ahead. ✨

Photos by @marisarosephoto, edits by me (+ so many more, I haven’t even had a chance to go through yet because they’re all my favorites and stopping me in my tracks. I’m a mom, guys. What?? 🥹)
