Today’s vendor spotlight is dedicated to Seattle wedding coordinator, Carly of Emerald Engagements.
Carly is my go-to anytime a couple asks for recommendations for local Seattle wedding coordinators for their elopement or wedding. In the beginning of 2020, we teamed up to pivot with the changing industry. We decided to offer structured micro wedding packages to help out couples who were scrambling with all of the uncertain changes.
Carly is also one of the featured vendors on my recommended vendors page.
We’ve worked together for couples who have had to reimagine their dream wedding. We found most needed help creating an event just as special to them as their original plan.
Seattle Wedding Coordinator

Carly and her team specialize in hands-on creative direction and full-service wedding and event design, planning and styling. She believes that even the small details are significant and I love that about her.
In this post, I’m sharing my interview with her to help you connect further with her business and brand.
How long have you been in the wedding industry? How did you get started?
I have been in the industry for four years now. I was a sophomore in college when I changed my degree from special education to hospitality. As a hospitality major, I needed 800 internship hours and get an offer at an event planning company.
I was on events for huge cooperation retreats, the 100th anniversary for girl scouts and an over-the-top wedding and that is where I completely fell in love with all thing’s weddings.
I quickly left that internship, changed my major to communications and hopped from wedding planning company to wedding planning company to gain as much knowledge as possible.
Once I hit all the knowledge I could learn from others, I branched out on my own and that is how Emerald Engagements came to be.
Can you share for us a bit of your journey since you started your business as a Seattle Wedding Coordinator?
Well, I started in January 2020 and had no idea what was going to happen to the world 60 days later. I kind of shut down if I was being honest. For a few months, I completely stopped all advertising costs and being present on social media.
Once things were starting to open up, I hit the ground running with a lot of styled shots to build my content platform. This helped bring in clients which kept me motivated, and has continued to do so.
In light of 2020, what are some ways you have noticed the wedding industry shift?
I have noticed weddings going from being all about the party to the true meaning which is very sweet. I loved my intimate 2020 weddings, although I would be lying if I didn’t admit I’m ready for dancing to be back!

How would you describe your vibe?
Honestly, I don’t really have a vibe. I am naturally a very bubbly, outgoing person. I jive well with couples who are extroverted and also bubbly.
What is your go-to Starbucks drink order?
Iced Vanilla Latte!
Who or what inspires you?
I think I am genuinely an extremely caring person. With that being said, my clients inspire me. Once I hear about their love story and their big day plans, I get really invested.
I want nothing but the best for them. That it in itself inspires me to always provide the best-of-the-best service. My goal is to make their big day happen just as they want.
What are your top 3 venues in the Seattle area?
I love the vibe of the Columbia Winery, Natures Connection, and The 101.
Who is all a part of your Seattle Wedding Coordinator team? What are some of the goals you have for this year ahead?
I am the lead wedding planner predominantly still. My right-hand girl is Caity and I am training her to also be a lead wedding planner and always looking for assistants for day of.
My goal is to continue to grow my team and get up to three -four lead planners and keep them busy.
Do you serve other areas outside of Seattle?
Yes, I will travel anywhere. I hope to one day be part time Washington and part time Hawaii.

Can you break down the difference between partial planning, full planning, and day of coordination?
Day of Coordination: You plan your wedding, and I will execute it.
Partial: We will plan your wedding together and I will execute it.
Full: I will take the full rein of planning and of course execute it.
You can view more details of all the services I provide on my website.

Do you have a favorite moment from a wedding day?
Yes!! I LOVE watching the reaction of the couples when they first see each other all done up. I truly love what I do and could not imagine myself doing anything else.
