A courthouse elopement and photo shoot might be the perfect option for your city vibes wedding. Maddy and Kody hired me to shoot their engagement shoot at the Emerald Forest, which is a popular destination for PNW micro weddings. To contrast the forest and nature engagement shoot, they decided to get married at the Seattle courthouse. I love giving a great experience during an engagement session so that we get to know each other and build trust for your wedding day.

Courthouse weddings are at the mercy of their list of appointments, and you don’t get to choose your judge. Some judges will let you decide where to have your ceremony, and we lucked out! Maddy and Kody wanted their ceremony on the roof, with Maddy’s best friend and Kody’s sister as their witnesses.

There are so many options when you elope! Whether you’re getting married in the city or out in nature. For these two, we took pictures on the roof, then walked the city streets, and ended at one of my favorite spots in the city. Can you guess what it is? A parking garage roof. It gives such great city vibes and it’s easy to avoid people up there.

I loved working with these two because their joy at getting married was palpable! It made telling their courthouse elopement story feel magical. Maddy has a smile that lights up a room. And she wore such a chic dress and put on gloves once we left the courthouse to walk around the city. Romantic elopement photo shoot is an ideal aesthetic that they nailed!
