Washington Micro Wedding at The Emerald Forest

Washington micro wedding at the The Emerald Forest is found in the outskirts of Redmond, Washington. This unique venue creates a magical and whimsical experience for your micro wedding in the PNW. As a Seattle based wedding photographer, I have done quite a few events at this venue and it never gets old. This styled shoot was actually my first time at The Emerald Forest. I imagined what it might be, but I was absolutely blown away with the secluded feeling this venue provides.

For this styled shoot, we wanted to keep social distancing in mind.

Faced with the pandemic, we needed to pivot with new ideas that would help reimagine what a "normal" wedding day looked like. To achieve this, I worked along side of Carly via Emerald Engagements to help bring the whole vision to life.

At the time, a lot of couples have been trying to be in line with restrictions from the pandemic. With this in mind, we really wanted to create a household-only dining space for the reception for this Washington Micro Wedding shoot that provided a visual for those scrambling to plan their own event.

We used the large wood stage in the woods at the venue as the platform for our reception space. The focal point, of course, being right in front of the treehouse. This venue is already built to be outside, so luckily for us, we didn't have to worry about an indoor space. Each table represents possible households of 5, 4, and 2 guests. How cute, right?

MICRO WEDDING IDEA: Put place settings on a cocktail hour table. Add on two barstools to create an intimate 2-person table!

We decorated our tables with the rentals provided by Grand Event Rentals. The colorful votives and blush velvet table runners paired with the blue velvet napkins worked beautifully together. This added texture and color to our mini reception in the woods.

Floral arrangements are a way to add a pop of wonder and pull a space together.

Our florist, Mariah of Fern Hollow Florals, created beautiful and colorful arrangements dressed up our tables. As well as creating a space for the intimate ceremony. Surrounded by the moss covered floor of the forest, the magic we were creating came to life. Our grooms exchanged watches during their ceremony instead of rings and I really loved the uniqueness of that exchange!

The dessert table was filled with delicious Snohomish Pie Company pies while the bar was setup by Pour Girls and Some Guys served colorful cocktails, served with extra love and joy throughout the celebration!

We also teamed up with a talented invitation designer Impress Ink, who provided our colorful and forest-inspired stationary. She created the watercolor graphic, displayed on the big screen and this really helped tie together our micro wedding event.

As a reminder: Your wedding day can be whatever you want it to be. You have the freedom to make it unique to you.
