Leavenworth Winter Proposal

I’ve known Mckenna since I was 10 years old. It’s been such a great journey going through life with her. When Jon was planning his proposal, he reached out to me to see if there would be any way I could photograph it. For months, we planned out a trip when Nathan and I would fly up to visit them in Seattle, and we “asked” if we could photograph them to help build my Pacific Northwest portfolio + if we could also drive to Leavenworth on one of the days.

Honestly, this is 100% normal for me to ask of my friends, haha. Mckenna and I “planned it all out” but she really had no idea that I was secretly planning with Jon the entire time as well. She didn’t suspect a thing!

The day of the proposal, we went on a mild hike in the snow near their home in Seattle, where the proposal was going to take place. Proposing closer to Seattle was definitely an option, as there are many beautiful locations for a proposal to take place. But the mountains were on Jon’s mind and it was quite magical, just as he hoped!

We brought their adorable little dog Zoey along, too. I gave Jon a signal ahead of time to watch out for so he would know that Nathan and I are ready to document this super sweet moment. She was so surprised, so overjoyed, and he totally cried too.

That night, we made it back to their home where Jon had another surprise – an engagement party with all of their family and friends. Risking the drive to and from Leavenworth with an engagement party happening behind the scenes, we knew we needed to save the trek for the following day.

The next morning we went up to Leavenworth for their actual engagement photos. Leavenworth is a cute little town that reminds me of a snow globe in the winter. It was so wonderful to spend so much quality time with such great friends. They’re getting married this summer and I’ll have the honor of standing up with them as a bridesmaid.
