I love getting to photograph unique engagement shoot ideas! Especially in the case that we’re doing lifestyle engagement photos. You don’t have to go by the book for your engagement photos, there’s plenty of options and as your photographer, I’m here to help you make your dream a reality! Whether we’re adventuring in the great outdoors or staying cozy in your home or Airbnb, there’s no shortage of ideas. If you’re looking for more unique engagement photo ideas, check out my blog post that details a bunch of options!
Baking Apple Pie for Lifestyle Engagement Photos
Meg and Sami came to me with the idea to do an engagement shoot that was all cozy-vibes and candids. We opted to do an in-home lifestyle engagement photo session where they baked an apple pie with their dog Nagi, who was so cute and such a good girl the whole shoot! Meg and Sami were adorable in the kitchen together and the whole shoot was such a fun time with many laughs, cuddles and kisses over flour and apple slices. If there is an activity that you and your partner love to do together, this is a great way to incorporate a unique idea into a shoot.
Rainy Day Engagement Shoot
After shooting in their kitchen, we went out for rainy-day shoot in a field with Nagi. Since it was raining, we bundled up in pea-coats with clear umbrellas. It contributed to the cozy vibe they wanted. Lifestyle engagement photos are all about doing activities that you might actually do in real life. Like play with your dog outside! This field is also special because it’s where they’re getting married next year! In addition to making engagement shoots unique to you as a couple, making them meaningful is also important to me. We’re creating new memories with these photos, we’re documenting a special time in between dating and marriage, and I look forward to seeing how you print and hang these photos on your walls!
If you’re looking for more inspiration for your own engagement shoot, check out these engagements sessions I’ve done, which were quite a vibe! One is at a retro drive in, one is on Whidbey Island, and one is in the emerald forest. No matter what your ideas are, let’s make them happen!
