Dreaming of something fun and funky for your engagement session? Something that reflects the vibrant love between you and your partner? Then you’re going to love taking some inspiration from Jenn and Dave’s drive in engagement session! We went retro, fun, and bright for their shoot to reflect their relationship. I am so proud of how this session turned out!
Drive In Engagement Session
I first met Jenn and Dave eight years ago, and I photographed them long before I even knew I’d be moving up to the Seattle area to serve as a wedding photographer here! They booked a session with me while I was visiting, at the Seattle Waterfront Piers. We stayed in touch after that, and when they reached out to me for wedding and engagement photos, I squealed in excitement!! It’s not every day you get to walk alongside your couples through life’s milestones as the years pass (but here’s a secret: we love getting to photograph you beyond just your wedding day!).
For their engagement photos, Jenn and Dave decided on something retro and fun! We included their adorable dog, Rigby, in the photos, and rented a red mustang to help the vision come to life. This drive in burger stand was the perfect location for their engagement! They incorporated fun colors into their outfits, brought along their roller skates (their elopement reception is at a roller rink!), and had a blast.
Unique Engagement Session Ideas
A unique session like this is just one example of how to make your session really feel true to you and your partner. If dressing up isn’t your thing, don’t do it! If you have a special location in mind like a coffee shop, or your own living room, go for it! The best engagement sessions are the ones where your love and personalities are reflected. And the more comfortable you are during the session, the better your photos will be! My goal is to always make sure you love your pictures.
