Every year, I host mini-sessions for my couples and families. Not only does this allow them to have new fall family photos annually, but it’s an absolutely amazing experience for me! I have the privilege of watching my couples’ love grow. Then, as they start their own families, I get to watch their kiddos grow up in front of the camera year after year. Fall family photos are something I look forward to every year as the weather turns crisp and cool.
Now, let’s talk about the amazing location of these sessions for a minute. I mean, Gold Creek Pond at Snoqualmie Pass is probably one of the most beautiful natural settings I’ve ever been to in Washington! From the crystal clear blue lake to the deep emerald forests and the mountains rising in the background, every photo here looks epic! Originally, this site was used as a quarry in the 1970’s and 80’s when building I-90. The Forestry Team took over and turned it into a gorgeous natural park! One of the reasons I really love Gold Creek Pond is its great accessibility. The path to access the session area is completely paved, perfect for all ages and even stroller or wheelchair accessible. That way, no one is left out of fall family photos.
If you’re familiar with the PNW, you’ll know it rains here… a lot. The weather can be unpredictable, especially from September through November. It’s always a risk taking fall family photos because you can’t guarantee that it won’t rain. I always pack clear bubble umbrellas just in case the weather doesn’t cooperate. But, we truly lucked out on the day of the sessions because it didn’t rain. It ended up being an incredibly beautiful day.
