I am excited to show off a round-up of 2024 weddings so far! The compilation of these weddings truly encapsulates all the diversity, ingenuity, and stunning designs of this year’s weddings so far. From an intimate Greek wedding to downtown Seattle elopement, from a rooftop in Anaheim to a colorful garden wedding, and then from a rainy Vashon Island wedding to the European style of The Corson Building. I always feel blessed to be a part of people’s wedding days, and this summer, has checked so many items off my wedding bucket list!
Intimate Wedding in Santorini, Greece
Tosha and Adam hired me and Nathan to document their wedding in Santorini, Greece. Friends from the industry, we were so excited to be chosen to be a part of their international wedding. For a lot of weddings, but especially destination weddings, I encourage couples to hire us out for a full weekend of festivities. That way, you and your guests have an opportunity to get to know the media team and start to feel comfortable. This will allow more candid moments to unfold. Since we haven’t been to Greece before, we decided to make a family trip out of it! We invited Nathan’s parents and brother, as well as my mom (whose had Greece on her bucket list!). It was really cool to shoot a wedding and then extend the experience into a family trip.

Downtown Seattle Elopement
I love doing courthouse weddings year-round. If you’ve been following my blog, you know I am highly experienced at courthouse weddings. See two more examples here and here. I love meeting each couple where they’re at in crafting a timeline that includes their top priorities. Even though they were eloping, Bobbi and Oliver knew this was still their wedding day. They wanted to make it more than just a ceremony at the courthouse. I helped create a half-day experience for them around downtown. We started with a first look at their hotel, The Edgewater, an iconic place in Seattle. Next, we took family photos at the Bell Harbor pier. From there, we did the ceremony itself at the Seattle courthouse. Of course, we followed that with portraits around downtown, including Pike Place Market.

Corson Building Intimate Wedding
Ruby and Doug discovered my work through Junebug Weddings and chose me to capture their intimate wedding at The Corson Building, one of my all-time favorite venues. The venue has a rich history—it was hand-built by an Italian family, and much of its original architecture remains intact, giving it a charming, old-world ambiance. The rustic beauty of the space also has incredible farm-to-table cuisine. Even if you can’t attend a wedding there, it’s worth a trip to the restaurant. I can’t wait to share more of their day and all the details soon!

Rainy Vashon Island Wedding
Next in our wedding round-up is a private property wedding on Vashon Island. Private residence weddings are both amazing and harder than you think! With a private residence you have the benefit of a cheap venue, but with that comes the added cost of bringing in all the rentals…also sometimes they don’t come with a weather contingency plan. With 0% chance of rain for their summer wedding on Vashon Island – we should’ve known better that it might rain anyway. We got lucky early on with a lovely, sunny day all through their formal portraits, but almost immediately following the ceremony, the rain set it. However, if there is one word to describe this wedding, “community” comes to mind. Everyone bound together to help create a memorable, loving, and joy-filled day to celebrate this love story. Rain on your wedding day is good luck, after all.

Anaheim Rooftop Wedding
Several times a year, I get to come back to my home state of California for weddings! It’s fun because it allows Nathan and I time to visit family, enjoy the sun, and keep a community down there. The Fifth Rooftop is just a couple of blocks away from Disneyland, Marissa and Ariel’s favorite place to be. So that made it a no-brainer when they were choosing a venue! I’ve known Marissa for a few years through social media and when she asked me and Nathan to document her wedding day, my heart absolutely melted. I love when people know me, know my work, and have been following along on our journey before their big day. Their first dance included cold sparklers and the Disneyland firework show started going just in time for cake cutting. Completely magical!

Garden Wedding at Christianson’s Nursery
The “color, garden, summer, flowers” reel I made came to life with Karen and TJ’s wedding at Christianson’s Nursery. It just goes to show that what you put out in the world that you want to shoot, you’ll reap it! Also, you have to love a Thursday wedding! Our weekends are so inundated during the summer that a mid-week wedding feels like a respite. In our initial consultation, they mentioned they wanted an intimate celebration to celebrate their love and make it official. Christianson’s Nursery is the perfect place for that, and it requires so little added design or florals because of how lush and beautiful it is. Karen and TJ have been together for close to 4 years and have blended their lives. Karen also grew up in the Skagit Valley, having her wedding at Christianson’s Nursery, a place her family goes to for all their gardening needs, and it felt like home.

Wedding Round-up 2024
With the tail end of summer in sight and my fall weddings on the horizon, I’m filled with anticipation for the season shift. I’m looking forward to those gentle sunny days and the slowing down of the wedding season, which will allow me to focus on finalizing these galleries for the couples who have entrusted me with their memories.
