I love shooting exclusive micro-weddings! One of the most unique wedding venues to have a micro-wedding at in the Pacific Northwest is Treehouse Point. It’s just off the road between the freeway and Fall City hidden amongst the trees. Getting to be a Treehouse Point Wedding Photographer is a privilege! They have tree houses scattered throughout the grounds, a lodge, and an area to set up your small reception. Also, if you’re looking for the perfect area to to have nature portraits, look no further!
Deciding where to do portraits
Allison and Devon wanted a forest but open feel to their first look photos and portrait session. So we went to the emerald forest which has a layer of moss over everything, but otherwise the foliage is sparse so it’s easy to walk around and do different poses. This contrasted great with the feel of Treehouse Point where the foliage is thicker.
Another individuality to their wedding, Devon’s kids and their dog got to be a part of the whole day. During the ceremony, they mixed all their colors in a glass ceremony so that it represented each person. Even the pup! It made for a special moment in the ceremony.
Adding something out of the ordinary to your reception
Getting to be a Treehouse Point wedding photographer is already cool enough, but Devon and Allison also incorporated a live singer/songwriter to their reception. Music by Jessica Allossery. This reminded me so much of Nathan and my wedding because we did the same thing. It creates such a cozy and lovely atmosphere to a small reception where more people will hang out and chat than party.
Maybe my favorite part of our experience together was after I posted the sneak peeks I got a text from Allison saying the day got captured so perfectly and the whole family raved about the images! I don’t do this job for praise, I do it to make you feel seen on your wedding day! I want to capture who you and your family and friends are on that very important moment in time. Always honored to be a part of that!
