Rachel and Kyle met at UW and live together in West Seattle. They chose a local wedding venue (which I absolutely love because it's right down the street from me too, haha). They were surrounded by their family and friends at The Hall at Fauntleroy. Rachel's bridesmaids wore mismatched lavender purple bridesmaids dresses, and Kyle's groomsmen wore purple ties to match. Oh! And get this: Rachel and her girls got their bouquets from the West Seattle Farmers Market that morning - can you believe it? The flowers that come from here + Pike Place blow my mind. The PNW knows what my heart wants and I love it.
As you scroll, take a moment to pause when Rachel's dad gave her away during their ceremony. OH MY GOSH, THE TEARS. I could barely contain my emotion about how absolutely sweet that moment is.
The venue itself is beautiful and has so many little nooks that would make a great little space for the the formal couples romantics/portraits, however I personally love to sneak the couple away to get them out of "the crazy." Meaning, as much as they love their people and want to spend the day surrounded by family and friends, it's also a day that they're promising each other forever. It's SO damn important to me that I create a space where they can just take a moment to breathe, soak it in together and like, snuggle. You know? Be a little silly, make out a bit, and then jump back in the celebration.
We snuck them away to Lincoln Park, which is just a 5 minute drive down the road. We had the most beautiful sunset lighting and wandered around the forest and ended our portrait time down at the water. We spent MAYBE 15 minutes taking photos. Short and sweet - I don't like to take the couple away from their guests for too long. Then, we jumped back in the car we went to join their family and friends.
