Old Mill Park Wedding Photographer
Danika and Spencer found me through our mutual friends. These two actually helped them location scout for the perfect location for their elopement last fall. It was so fun to go back to Mill Valley (just outside of San Francisco) to document another really precious wedding out at their amphitheater. Mill Valley, CA is a quaint little town near Mount Tamalpais. A quick drive will take you to the Redwoods found in Muir Woods. Honestly, you could spend weeks in this area relaxing and exploring.
Danika and Spencer are two really genuine people. We were able to see this play out on their wedding day. Through the connections that they have with their family and friends. So many of them travelled from all over to celebrate with them on this day. They made a point to spend quality time with their guests - as much as they could, anyway! Their hearts beat for their family and being around them, you could feel it.
They got ready that morning in a boho chic Airbnb. Walking distance from the park where their ceremony was taking place. Literally around the corner. I love a short commute!
Traditionally, couples will opt for separate hotel rooms or different spaces to get ready. Even though the whole wedding party were getting ready in the same space, Danika and Spencer wanted all of their friends to be able to hang out together. It helped that the Airbnb they chose had two levels. This allowed them to stay in separate rooms until their first look.

Danika and Spencer's first look was so sweet. Filled with emotions and tears, they laughed and cried as they sunk into this moment together. You can see the bridesmaids all peeking out of the window just above the spot we chose in the courtyard. They were cheering them on and eventually met them downstairs so we could walk to the ceremony location together.
The grooms sister joined the groomsmen as a groomswoman, and rocked a navy jumpsuit to go along with their suits. Danika's girls wore mismatched blush pink dresses, and the wildflower floral bouquets and arrangements were DIY'd by family.
The ceremony itself was stunning, as well. Each summer, the Curtain Theatre of Mill Valley hosts a free play. Danika and Spencer asked if they could leave the forest-painted backdrop up for them, and I'm so glad they did.
The reception followed at the IDDEST Sausalito Portuguese Cultural Center and featured all of my favorite things: A charcuterie board during cocktail hour, toasts that brought laughter and tears, a local food truck (Madd Mex Cantina), cupcakes for dessert, and a talented DJ (Brandon Bosch, of The Celebration DJ) who kept the dance floor lit the entire night.

As a destination elopement and wedding photographer, I love seeing where these celebrations take me. I love discovering new locations. Finding ways to document a love story surrounding by a space that is important to the couple is something my heart thrives on. I'll never get tired of it!
A new addition I've added to my business is associate photographers. This way, if I can't carve out a weekend to travel in for a wedding, one of my more-local associates may be able to. You can think of it as me being in two places at once, essentially. You can read more about my associate photographers here.
