This is the part we think about the most. Not th This is the part we think about the most.

Not the dress or the flowers (though we love those too). But it’s the moment a grandfather gets pulled into a hug and forgets anyone is watching. The friends who flew in. The parents who have known this day was coming for decades and are finally in it.

What a truly special day it is.

A wedding is one of the only times everyone a couple loves is in the same room at the same time. It almost never happens again. So we spend the day watching for it. The tears during a toast, the dance floor that fills and never empties, the two people who slip away for a second and then get folded right back into the crowd.

This is what it is about. Your favorite people, your favorite day, all of it happening at once. We are just there to make sure you get to keep it.

Nobody wanted to sit down. The dance floor was on Nobody wanted to sit down.

The dance floor was on the water, the skyline was doing its thing behind them, and their favorite people showed up ready to celebrate. A day like this feels like a reunion first and a wedding second.

Kendra and JC’s wedding was unmistakably theirs. Those are the weddings we love the most.

As wedding photographers, we spend most of the day directing and then the rest of the day anticipating. We are always reading the room, watching for what might happen, and making sure we are in position when it does. The blurred photo is one of our favorite frames from the night, and it was not on anyone’s shot list.

Intention. The word a lot of our couples use to de Intention. The word a lot of our couples use to describe their plan for their wedding day. They want to be intentional about the details, the flow and the experience of their guests. They want to fuse in moments and little details that celebrate their love story and this next chapter.

And they want a photographer who approaches their day with intention, too.

To anticipate moments, to be intentional in composition, lighting, angles and storytelling. To guide and direct a wedding day without overstepping, allowing real moments to unfold. To celebrate trends and styles but will choose to put more emphasis on what will be timeless.

Wedding photos are the first heirlooms you will pass down to the next generations. Let us celebrate that with the intentionality you deserve.

STORY TIME 14 years ago, I photographed my first STORY TIME

14 years ago, I photographed my first solo wedding.

I was 20 years old and had 2 years of wedding experience, but never as a lead. The clients knew this, agreed to this, and I charged them $500 for a full 8 hour day (just so it wasn’t “free”)

And in the end… they hated the photos.

The bride described herself as very expressive. Asked for multiple re-edits, expected photos we did not discuss prior (They were not industry standard photos, but my inexperience showed in how I handled her expectations), and nearly asked for a refund.

I almost quit wedding photography all together.

Maybe I wasn’t cut out for this.

But I persevered and I’m so glad I did. My second couple was an absolute BLESSING. Their wedding was the experience I once wished I had instead for the start of my career.

But now I think otherwise.

There is no way to redo a wedding and I’ve never taken that lightly. For years, I felt shame over these photos.

But I have a new understanding of it all now and appreciate how much I’ve grown.

I actually think I did a pretty good job, too, all things considered (shall I list all the things I had to pivot through, like my 2nd photographer I hired to help me who left during dinner without notice??)

I’m sad that they were unhappy, but I’m still grateful for the experience.

This is a passion that runs so deep that even when I crashed and burned that first time, I got up and did it again.

I worked harder, communicated better, became more prepared.

I learned from every lesson in which I failed.

A lot of my journey has been exciting. But most of it hasn’t been easy… it’s been earned.

I love this industry down to my bones.

Now, when June 23rd rolls around, I’m not haunted by the memories of failure. Instead, I’m reminded of the resilience I see in this industry, and also in myself. 💛
