The Best Tacoma Wedding Venues

Making a wedding day memorable is a smidge easier with the perfect venue, especially in the Pacific Northwest! With unpredictable weather, venues that have flexible indoor and outdoor options are the best ones in any season. Tacoma, WA is a beautiful location for your wedding ceremony. These Tacoma wedding venues are my favorites as a wedding photographer - browse through this resource list to find the perfect venue for your wedding!

Outdoor Tacoma Wedding Venues

Marymount Event Center

This is a historic Tacoma spot, with 80 acres of land. It’s home to the LeMay classic car and Americana memorabilia collection and has great vintage and classic vibes for a wedding. 

Capacity: From 5 to 500 people indoors, unlimited outdoors

Space: You have lots of options at Marymount! There’s a chapel for a more traditional feel with fresco paintings, a pipe organ, and stained-glass panels. The museum is great for a bigger celebration, and there are a few different gardens and lawns for outdoor ceremonies with tree groves, arbors, and more. There’s even an on-site getting ready suite to make the whole day smooth and simple! 

Other unique features: The venue offers tents over the outdoor spaces so that you can safely hold your ceremony in any season. You also have the option to rent a vintage vehicle from their fleet for an awesome entrance and/or exit!

Waterfront Venue

This is a stunning outdoor backdrop for your wedding. The views of the Puget Sound are unmatched here! I’m dreaming of sunset portraits with you and your partner…

Capacity: Up to 500 guests.

Space: This is a former lumber mill converted to a boathouse. You can exchange vows on the outdoor patio, or use the indoor space, which has vaulted ceilings and shiplap walls. You can’t go wrong, either - indoor or outdoor are both going to be a memorable experience. 

Other unique features: Waterfront venue has vendor partners that they work with to serve your event!

Fort Nisqually Living History Museum

This is another flexible indoor/outdoor space located in Point Defiance Park. You can book the meadow, the Great Room, or the entire complex.

Capacity: 300 for the entire complex; 63 for just the Great Room and 75 for just the Meadow.

Space: You can make your wedding super fun here; they have croquet and gunny sack races if you’re looking for fun reception ideas! You can also keep it simple and enjoy the outdoor space, which is surrounded by lush trees. 

Other unique features: Audio and visual availability, as well as unique candle lantern rentals!

Historic Tacoma Wedding Venues

Events on 6th

This is a Gothic-style church that was built in 1924, with a mid-century reception space. This is a really cool mix of modern and traditional! 

Capacity: This is a small wedding venue in Tacoma, and can hold up to 160 guests. 

Space: The church has stained glass windows, a balcony, and an amazing vaulted ceiling. There’s also dressing rooms for you and your party to get ready. The reception area is open-concept, which is perfect for dancing, relaxing, and eating without feeling like you’re missing out on the party!

Other unique features: Parking, on-site planning visits, plus a list of preferred vendors if you’re stuck on those. They’re available for elopements too!

Historic 1625 Tacoma Place

It may not look like a stunner from the outside, but this indoor venue is gorgeous! The old brick walls and exposed beams in the ceiling make this a really sleek space to get married in. 

Capacity: Tables and chairs are provided for up to 200, but you can request more if your guest list is larger!

Space: One of the coolest things about this venue is the adjustable lighting - of course as your photographer I’d say that! But this can really set the mood for your celebration, which is so awesome. There are also changing suites for your wedding party. The exposed brick makes a really cool backdrop, and the slate floors are great for your dancing shoes! 

Other unique features: Climate control, automated blinds on the windows for extra privacy, free parking, and handicap-accessible bathrooms.

Modern Tacoma Wedding Venues

Tacoma Art Museum

The Tacoma Art Museum is sleek and modern, perfect for either a minimal celebration or something super elegant!

Capacity: From 25 for an intimate gathering, up to 500 in a cocktail-style standing reception.

Space: This is a downtown Tacoma venue, so you’ll get urban vibes and great views here! There are multiple spaces that can be used on their own or in combination, so you can really set the tone and make your wedding unique by incorporating the art exhibits! It’s a fully accessible, ADA compliant venue. 

Other unique features: You can take advantage of the projection and AV system built in at the museum, as well as on-site parking (for an extra fee) and full services like tables, chairs, linens, stage, etc.

The Press Room

The Press Room is in Tacoma’s Theatre District. It’s an urban space that works really well for a rustic wedding vibe!

Capacity: Can seat around 200 guests, 300 if a standing cocktail-style reception is your vibe.

Space: The Press Room has a dramatic grand staircase, a 30-foot custom bar, and a mezzanine area. There are suites for you and your partner to get ready in as well. Vintage and rustic come to mind for this Tacoma wedding venue! 

Other unique features: Tables and chairs are included in the wedding package here, as well as linens. They have new air conditioning and heat to keep you comfortable.

Tin Can Alley Tacoma

This venue is a renovated factory and has tons of charm, located right in the middle of Tacoma. 

Capacity: Up to 300 guests.

Space: Tacoma is full of venues with historic beauty, and this is one of them! There’s a ton of natural light at this venue. It’s an open plan layout, so you can get creative and flexible with how you want to decorate. 

Other unique features: The staff has a ton of event rentals and decor options so that you can design your dream wedding. There are also sound system and lighting options!
