Ashley and Ryan’s Industrial-Vibe Wedding at Fremont Foundry

As a Seattle-based wedding photographer, I often have my eye on certain venues that I’m so excited to get to shoot at. These “bucket list” venues are dream places I can’t wait to celebrate at with future couples! Fremont Foundry in the Ballard neighborhood is one of those, and I’m so overjoyed to have gotten to see this venue and celebrate with Ashley and Ryan for their wedding.

Fremont Foundry

Flexible wedding venues here in the Pacific Northwest are key. Indoor and outdoor options are perfect for when the weather turns, or just to allow guests to spread out and take in both the beauty of a gorgeous venue and the views outside!

Fremont Foundry has high ceilings and a modern and industrial style. Outside, their courtyard has beautiful views of North Seattle where the golden hour at sunset is especially magical.

Ashley and Ryan chose this venue because it’s right in the heart of their own neighborhood. They loved the idea of getting to show off their area of Seattle to all their guests, giving them just a slice of what their lives are like here.

Ashley & Ryan

Ashley and Ryan were most looking forward to their first dance, walking back up the aisle after their ceremony, and their portraits (where they were excited about soaking in some alone time). They were also eager to get down on the dance floor with all their guests, many of whom traveled from out of town.

I think their celebration turned out to be every bit the personal, special, magical experience that they wanted and deserved! Ashley has stage fright, so intentionally scheduling in a private first look and doing formal photos early in the day was the perfect way to ease the nerves of the ceremony! I always make a point to ensure that I create a comfortable space for my couples, which was extra important for Ashley and Ryan.

Capturing honest moments rather than trying to direct poses is a great way to help my couples stay at ease in front of the camera, and Ashley and Ryan’s day couldn’t have turned out more beautifully.
