There’s something magical about a wedding on Vashon Island—beautiful PNW backdrop. Kristine and Elyse’s day was everything that a true western Washington on the islands should be: lush, heartfelt, and a little bit rainy. Despite an unexpected summer rainstorm, their wedding rallied around them, celebrated them in all the circumstances. Held at a private residence, their wedding on Vashon Island was intimate and perfect and full of candid moments.
Rainy Vashon Island Wedding
A surprise downpour might have dampened some spirits on a day forecasted for sunshine. But not for Kristine and Elyse or their incredible community of friends and family. With tents, a live band, and laughter, their guests embraced the unexpected weather, making sure the day continued perfectly for the couple. From heartfelt vows to a lively dance party, the rain only seemed to amplify the magic of this celebration.
Their love was evident in every detail—from the way they smiled and cried at each other during the ceremony to the way they danced with intimacy and love, surrounded by the people who mattered most. As their photographers, we were honored to witness and document these moments.

The catering by Lovely Night Seattle was an absolute hit. Guests raved about the delicious and beautifully presented dishes, which perfectly complemented the relaxed yet elegant vibe of the day.
Hair and makeup by Lisa Boehm Beauty kept Kristine and Elyse looking flawless, rain and all. Her work highlighted their natural beauty while ensuring their looks held up throughout the day.
The florals by Althauser Design were stunning, bringing pops of color and romance to every corner of the venue. From lush bouquets to gorgeous centerpieces, the floral arrangements were truly breathtaking.
Rentals from CORT Party Rental created a warm and inviting atmosphere. Their stylish pieces added a touch of sophistication that complemented the natural charm of the private residence.
The live music by The Shakedown Band brought energy and excitement to the reception, keeping the dance floor packed all night long. The photo of them with grandma on the dance floor lives rent free in my head.
