When Jing and Terrence told me they were open to any location for their engagement photos, I knew exactly where to take them. My husband, Nathan, and I were heading to Mt. Baker for an elopement, and Artist Point had long been on my wishlist. Making my own luck! In 2020, wildfires forced us to relocate an elopement from this area, but I had always dreamed of returning. Finally, I had the opportunity—and it was worth every chilly, early-morning moment.
Sunrise Session at Artist Point
We decided to go at sunrise, ensuring we’d avoid crowds and catch the morning golden light on the mountains. It was freezing, yet Jing and Terrence were incredible troopers, willing to brave the cold to get “the shot”. We love a couple willing to go on an adventure with us like this! It sets us up to get some amazing shots for you because, in that sense, we’re collaborators!
Capturing Natural Landscapes as Backdrops
Artist Point is jaw-droppingly stunning. If you’ve ever gotten the chance to see it, you’ll be amazed to find that it’s even more pretty than its big brother, Mt. Baker. The peaks, the way it looks through the clouds, and the fact that you can see it from a parking lot make it the best for many reasons. I tried to blend Jing and Terrence’s connection with the landscapes, creating pieces that would look beautiful in print on the walls of their home.
Why Mt. Baker is the Perfect Location for an Engagement Shoot
Jing and Terrence’s engagement session at Artist Point offered everything I love as a photographer. It had gorgeous landscapes, authentic connection, and adventure. This experience is a testament to choosing meaningful, scenic locations for engagement photos. When couples trust me to bring them somewhere unique, the results are always magical.
With golden light, stunning peaks, and a couple willing to go the distance, this engagement session at Artist Point was amazing!
