Working a wedding at Christianson’s Nursery is always fun, but Karen and TJ’s day was something truly special. Christianson’s Nursery, located in Mount Vernon, Washington is not that far out of Seattle and blends a garden wedding dream with nostalgia and any true millennials love for plants. Karen and TJ’s vision was a relaxed, romantic, and whimsical summer garden celebration, brought to life with vibrant florals and their favorite people surrounding them.
Bringing Summer Garden Vibes to Life
Adina from Tangled Roots Floral played a pivotal role in crafting the floral design. Reflecting on her approach, she said:
“Hydrangeas were definitely important, but it was even more about creating a feeling—relaxed, romantic, and full of joy. We leaned into locally grown blooms, like hydrangeas and garden roses, and added seasonal flowers for that summer garden charm.”
With 95% of the flowers locally sourced, the arrangements were a heartfelt nod to the beauty of the season. It can be hard in a stunning garden to create arrangements that stand out but Adina did just that. The bright wedding florals were truly art pieces.
A Full-Circle Moment
For me, this wedding felt like a meaningful full-circle moment. Adina and I first worked together at Christianson’s Nursery four years ago, and seeing her talent shine again in this setting felt like returning home. Her florals transformed every corner into a joyful, whimsical celebration. It’s so fun to see return vendors again and again and see how our careers progress.

This wedding wasn’t just about flowers or a beautiful venue—it was about Karen and TJ’s story. From the heartfelt laughter and tears during their ceremony to the joy-filled moments shared with loved ones, their day was unforgettable.
