Getting to shoot weddings in the best of both worlds—Seattle, where we live, and California, where our families are—is magical! I love the opportunity to return to the sunshine and the land of Disney for a couple of weddings a year. And this couple was extra special. Partly because I’ve known the bride, Marissa, for quite a few years, and it was such an honor to witness her love story unfold and be the one who was trusted to document it. But also, they are into all things Disney, which I am as well.
California Disney Wedding Details
I loved all of the Disney wedding details at this event! They held the wedding at the venue at The Fifth, which gets great views of the Disney firework. They also included a fairytale book that held the rings. So much intention was put into the details of this day! They included some memorabilia from Beauty and the Beast on the entrance table. And, the red and white florals contributed to the fairytale feeling. They also decided to cut their cake right at fireworks hour, which just added all the magic to the end of the night.
Documenting Friend’s Wedding
It is always an honor to be asked by people you know to photograph their weddings. Not only does it make it a touch more special for me since I have an emotional attachment to them, but it also allows our time together to be even more comfortable. Knowing that they look at my work, love it, see my experience, and trust me to document one of their most important days is a privilege.
Lots of vendors made this day the California Disney wedding of dreams! The planner, Events by PC, and florist, St George Flowers, and rentals by Azteca Party and House of Mirrors knocked every moment out of the park!
Violinist Brooksley Bishop and live painter, Alicia Anne, made the small moments so much more intentional and sweet.
Naw Glam, Hair by Daisy, and Blush Bridal Couture did styling in a beautiful way that kept all day long!
And Dj, DJ Killer Bee, kept the party going long into the night!
