San Diego Family Photographer

I currently like to view myself as a San Diego family photographer, even though I’m based up in Orange County. Why, you may ask? Oh, because I’m at this new location I found like… all the time. I basically live there part-time, I call it my new favorite playground. The colors are so simple and yet whimsical, and the way the sun sets in the trees and behind the mountains is absolutely dreamy. I can’t believe I came across this hidden gem via google maps. It’s amazing what you can do with technology.

I met Melissa and her husband Jake and their cute kiddos for a family session at my new favorite shooting location. Upon arrival, I was immediately blown away by the light we were given that day. Then I noticed, their style was on point, too. Melissa grabbed her Anthropologie dress while thrifting (what an incredible find, right?) but usually prefers to support small businesses. She got a shirt for Jake and had their little boy in a romper from Little Cottonwood. Their little girl was so precious in her Sweet As April bonnet, She Loves Her Mama romper, The Little Pair tights, Baltic Mermaid bracelet, and Sweet n Swag shoes. If I could somehow pull this outfit off and wear it right now, I totally would. So stinkin’ cute.

I also found out that Melissa makes her own jewelry, so I took some photos of her wearing some of the pieces she made. She primarily makes pieces for herself and her friends but I found out that she can make custom jewelry for others too! Yay! If you’re interested you can contact her via Instagram.

Melissa and Jake doubled the session as an announcement family session, too, and had a letter board ready to go for their little’s to hold. I love being able to document milestones like this for precious families like these.
