This villa in Oregon City will easily bring your European style wedding to life. As an Oregon winery wedding photographer, the Villa Catalana Cellars was the perfect setting for this wedding. As always, I felt it was important to showcase the multitude of options when it comes to luxurious-feeling backdrops for couples portraits.
When I heard that Dani Bee Weddings was putting on a styled shoot full of all my European wedding dreams, I knew I needed to take the roadtrip down to Oregon. I was given the opportunity to capture all the content I’ve been dreaming of for what seems like forever.

There are plenty of benefits to participate in styled shoots:
- I love seeing a mood board and overall concept come to life from visionaries like Dani.
- Being able to fill in anything that feels missing in my portfolio is important to showcase all the different styles of weddings I can (and want) to document.
- On a similar note, being able to try new things. I like to try new poses, have the luxury of “re-setting” a pose with movement if needed, utilize new gear, and really just have some trial and error. These are risks I never like to take on a real wedding day, but they’re perfect to try out on a content shoot.
- The benefit of signing onto a styled shoot down in Oregon, is it opens up opportunities to collaborate with local vendors. As a PNW wedding photographer, I can drive anywhere within WA or OR to content days like this, which really just broadens my horizons of the areas in which I serve as a wedding photographer.
The Villa Catalana Cellars is a winery in the Willamette Valley, 30 minutes south of Portland.
Huge shoutout to the vendor team who helped pull this all together. The beautiful calligrapher Life In Letters provided the amazing invitation suite and dinner menus. The lush white and green florals were definitely swoon-worthy by Swoon Floral Design (see what I did there?). Great Jones NW provided rentals such as this 8 person table scape under the grapevines. What a great setup for a little micro wedding, right? Now, just imagine this at a larger scale. AMAZING. Next to the table you’ll also see the lovely cake by Bees Cakes.
Our models for the shoot were real life couple, Rachel and Devin. I always prefer to work with real couples to keep shoots like this as authentic as possible. Rachel’s hair and makeup artist was Wild Emerald Bridal. The dress she wore with the amazing sleeves came from Rent The Dress Ct. She looks like she just stepped off a runway, doesn’t she?
Okay, okay, let me just dive into the gallery now, because I’m really excited to share with you what I captured.
