Being an Oahu, Hawaii elopement photographer, it was such a pleasure to visit the island once again. But this elopement was a little extra special for me! This trip was not only for work, but for pleasure as well. It was my sister’s wedding day and she wanted me to be her Oahu, Hawaii elopement photographer!
Oahu is such a beautiful place, perfect for their intimate elopement. My husband Nathan and I scouted lots of different locations the day of the wedding. That’s honestly one of my favorite parts of prepping for a wedding – finding out which locations we want to shoot at! Because I was a part of the wedding party, we only shot the first look and sunset romantics. And wow did they turn out stunning! Would you even believe that some of these photos were taken in a parking lot? If you have an experienced photographer, they can make the most random spots look beautiful in photos.
Of course, since we were in Hawaii, we had to take advantage. We were in Kaui in September 2019 for another family wedding, so we knew we wanted to explore more this time around. We ended up finding an amazing shaved ice place and went to happy hour at the Hideout at the Laylow hotel. It ended up being such a fun experience! We also wanted to take advantage of the scenic views on the island, so we did a sunrise hike at Diamond Head Crater and a sunrise catamaran in Honolulu. Trust me, you’ll want to experience these as well!
