There is something truly magical and whimsical about weddings in Leavenworth, Washington. The mountains rising up around you, the evergreen trees mixed with pine and birch. One of my favorite venues to shoot at near Leavenworth is Mountain Springs Lodge. They have so many options for backdrops and event spaces, not to mention being fairly close to downtown. It’s a dream. As a Mountain Springs Lodge wedding photographer, I got excited planning portraits in the field, near the pond, with the mountains in the background, with the unique half-covered reception area, and on the bridge.
Being ready for anything
Every wedding is different. Adaptability is key! You try, as a photographer, to plan for every scenario. But you don’t know what is going to be thrown at you. At this particular Mountain Springs Lodge wedding, Carl dipped Anna in a kiss during the grand entrance, and I had no idea he was going to do that! He made it so cute, and I got this shot I actually love, peeking through the shoulders of onlookers. Keep scrolling to see it below!
Another thing that can mean a little bit more pre-planning is medium to large bridal parties. In my questionnaire I find out how many people you’re planning on each side. Anna and Carl had 6 on each side, 14 total with the couple, which is a fairly healthy size! That’s why you want to work with an experienced photographer, because it takes a lot to wrangle that many people and get those fun group shots. You want someone who can command a room!
Working with new vendors at a Mountain Springs Lodge wedding
You all know I love to work with my husband Nathan from Ochoa Films. So, it’s always an adventure when I get to work with a new videographer. It’s fun to meet new people and learn about how someone else works. It’s really important for your photographer and videographer to get along and work as a team! This time around I worked with Kelcee of Hardword Photography!
One of my favorite florists designed the florals – Love Blooms.
Carissa Blossom Artistry highlighted the girl’s beauty, and I Do Bridal had the perfect dress for Anna!
JMG Entertainment got the party going!
Cupcake Blues provided the dessert, and it was so yummy, I love a cupcake moment.
I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention that Anna’s dad made the seating chart sign, cake box stand, and the wooden centerpieces. Everything they did on their wedding day brought them joy and rang true to them as a couple.
