Heather and Mark are such a sweet and loving couple. There is so much joy between these two. They invited me to document their wedding at the Shinn Historic Park & Arboretum. The Shinn House is a hidden gem surrounded by trees and gardens. It’s a gorgeous victorian farm style house in Fremont, CA.
Heather and Mark’s guest book was a bible for their friends and family to circle and doodle next to their favorite passages. There was a section of the venue where guests could walk through memory lane, which was filled with photos of the bride and grooms childhoods and favorite moments from the journey of their relationship. Heather wore Birkenstock sandals because they were more her and were more comfortable (YES! More of this, please). Their wedding bands were both rose gold. They wrote love notes to each other to read right before their first look, where Mark definitely cried and it was so precious. The bridal party was a super lively bunch and had a blast taking photos with their greatest friends. The entire day was filled with so much prayer and so much endless, joyful love. Ah, this day was so great.
I love traveling for weddings and experiencing moments like these. I’m blown away by the fact that my job allows me to see places like this that I haven’t been to before. I get to explore and absorb the location around me that are new and yet feel familiar. I get to meet amazing couples in a place where our paths possibly wouldn’t have crossed normally. I get to document some pretty incredible moment at such a special time in their lives. I feel so grateful for opportunities like these. Thank you for trusting me and my art, Heather and Mark. You two are really somethin’ else.
