Lydia and Kyle’s Dreamy Seattle Aquarium Wedding

A wedding day that’s all about the experience — this is a phrase that’s tossed around a lot, and if you’re planning your own wedding, you may have heard it. In the age of less tradition and more personalization at weddings (which I adore!), seeing my couples cater experiences that feel true to them is one of my greatest joys as a Seattle wedding photographer. For Lydia and Kyle, it was a thoughtful, family-centered wedding at the Seattle Aquarium.

When You’re Looking for a Unique Experience…

Lydia and Kyle chose to hold their wedding at the Seattle Aquarium because of the experience they’d be able to have and provide to all their wedding guests! Since this space is in downtown Seattle, we were able to take wedding party and family photos at Harbor Steps, which is a place that Lydia and Kyle frequent a lot! Adding in that personal touch makes everything so special.

Lydia’s family traveled to Seattle all the way from the east coast, while Kyle’s came up from California to celebrate with them. Keeping the focus on the people rather than the details was an important part of wedding planning for Lydia and Kyle, so the aquarium wound up being the absolute perfect place.

Located at Pier 59 on Elliot Bay, the Seattle Aquarium can host weddings for up to 800 people. You can hold your ceremony out on the pier with views. Then, step inside for your reception surrounded by the water and creatures of the aquarium. Of all unique wedding ideas, an aquarium venue is definitely one of the coolest!
