It was a rainy, cold day in San Francisco, but the celebration of the love shared between Mali and Farzad kept us all warm. I have always dreamed of photographing an elopement at the San Francisco City Hall and I already can't wait until I can go back and photograph more. The architecture and pockets of light is inspiring.

After their ceremony, we went back to their home where they shared a meal and their family gave gifts. We went to the roof top of their building and the views were spectacular. We primarily took their wedding portraits at the Palace of Fine Arts. It was raining, but that simply sets my soul on fire. I love shooting in the rain and I LOVE that they didn't mind it one bit.

Tip for those who are getting married in the potentially rainy season: First of all, take a deep breath. The grey skies are just as magical as the sunshine. Ultimately, grab a clear bubble umbrella! I prefer these over a plain black umbrella, due to the light being able to pour through the top of it. This way, you stay (somewhat) dry, without creating additional shadows on your faces.
