Mentor Sessions

I am a self-taught photographer. I never took a class to teach me how to be a photographer. Instead, I reached out to a few local photographers, and they were kind enough to take me under their wing. I got a lot of hands-on training, which is honestly the best way for me to learn, anyway.

I’ve now been in this business for 10 years, and I’ve learned SO MANY THINGS along this journey.

I’ll be the first to say that I don’t know everything. But, I am big on community over competition with others who are interested in the wedding industry. Loving on others and encouraging them sets my heart on fire. I would absolutely love to support you.

I’ve hosted group workshops before, but my main passion is one-on-one learning. There isn’t a one-size-fits-all guide for this industry, and I’m not going to waste your time on the things that you already know about. Each mentor session will be custom built for what you want to learn.

* Mentor session can take place online via Skype, or in person.

What you’ll learn:
Social media marketing and branding
Finding your ideal client
Client communication
Posing vs. directing
Workflow and editing
Making the most of any photo location
Killin’ it in any lighting situation
Camera tips and actual shooting guidance

With online sessions, we can discuss all things business. We can share our screens and walk through workflow and editing.

If we do an in-person mentor session, (I am local to Seattle + Southern California) you’ll have the option of shooting together with a real couple. We’ll focus on giving direction and creating a genuine connection with our client. You’ll also be able to use the photos for your portfolio.

Again, these are customizable sessions. You’ve got options.

My hope for you in these mentor sessions is that you’ll feel more confident stepping into the photography world, putting yourself out there, and you’ll believe in yourself and in your art.

Let’s go have some fun.

I’m so grateful to have found Taylor as a photography mentor. Her knowledge and expertise is beyond what I could have hoped for. But what really sets her apart is the manner in which she teaches. She is incredibly patient and encouraged me to ask questions in the weeks and months following our sessions. To have someone rooting in my corner hoping I succeed is priceless beyond measure!
