Some of my favorite memories from wedding days are the candid moments with mom and dad. Obviously, the wedding day is about the couple who is getting married. But I also love to showcase the love between the parents and their kid who is all grown up, marrying the person of their dreams. The little moments found in between the big moments.
There is a huge range of emotions that happen on a wedding day, filled with incredible joy and laughter, and sometimes love-filled tears. It's so precious to watch these moments unfold and an honor to be the one trusted to document them.
Although you cannot force candid moments like these to happen, you can absolutely create a space that allows them to happen organically. Some reactions may be more subtle than others. The job of a wedding photographer is to not manufacture these emotions, but really to anticipate them.

Whether it's while helping her daughter get ready for the ceremony, seeing her fully invested in the moment while overcome with emotion, or dancing with her son during the reception. There are so many memories that are worth celebrating and cherishing.
In honor of Mother's Day, this post is to celebrate moms. Thank you for loving your kids and for raising them to be loving adults.
