Lakewold Gardens is a hidden gem in south Puget Sound. I’ve had my eye on it for a while as it encompasses everything that is the tmInspired brand: whimsy, elegance, and vintage. So when I got the opportunity to shoot an engagement session for Ligia and Coty there, I was so excited to finally check it off the bucket list! It will be the perfect spot for someone’s wedding day.
Lakewold Gardens Wedding Venue
As I said, this property is the perfect blend of modern elegance and vintage. Sweeping gardens, antique and romantic architecture, there’s no bad spot in the whole place. Plus, as a company their values align deeply with so many Washington natives. They are all about fostering community, preservation of nature, and environmental awareness. I love when venues aren’t just spaces for entertainment, but stewards of the land they are cultivating.
Autumn Engagement Shoot
Ligia and Coty are having a winter wedding at Fox Hollow Farm, so we knew we wanted to bring in the atmosphere of a different season and autumn was the perfect fit with the beautiful colors on the trees. Since the weather of Seattle is so unpredictable, we knew we’d need a place that offered both indoor and outdoor options. Lakewold was perfect for this, with stunning interiors to avoid any rain but also with plenty of ground to cover. We were lucky enough that we were able to get outside before the weather turned on us and get lots of images with the fall foliage. But as you can see, there’s really no bad spots to shoot on the grounds inside or outside!
Preparing for the Weather
Besides choosing a good location, there are other ways to prep yourself in case the PNW decides to rain on your engagement shoot. One thing I always have on hand are clear umbrellas. They offer cover that is cute and will add aesthetically to your shoot. Also, finding ways to dress warm or layer up so that you can easily shed into whatever outfit you’d like for your shoot. Whatever the case may be, I can help you find ways to prepare for any weather scenario.
Ligia and Coty were lucky enough to get great weather for their autumn engagement shoot at Lakewold Gardens. The fall foliage was out in full display, we got to avoid any rain, but we also were able to enjoy the beautiful indoor spaces at the garden. It was the best of all worlds!
