Every time a couple chooses me to be a part of their wedding day, I feel immensely lucky. So, when Erin and Sadie asked me to be their Kiana Lodge wedding photographer, I got so excited. Not only is the venue beautiful, but Erin and Sadie are two amazing people who are a light in any life they touch. Absolute sweethearts. They made sure the day had so many emotional aspects, but remained a great time for their guests. Anyone who witnessed these two get married walked away feeling uplifted.
Kiana Lodge Wedding
As a Kiana Lodge wedding photographer, every time an inquiry comes in for this local Seattle venue, I’m excited! It sits right on the water with lush, vast grounds and a stunning indoor space with plenty of light and atmosphere. Their website, though, might describe it best: “Nestled deep among tall, fragrant cedars, lush, abundant gardens, and the truly scenic Agate Passage; Kiana Lodge is, undeniably, a place where time stands still. A place where love is celebrated, and traditions are born.” And that is what you want on a wedding day, for time to momentarily stand still as you promise your life to someone else.
Celebrating Family on Your Wedding Day
Sadly, Erin’s mom had passed away a few years prior to the wedding. But, Erin and Sadie knew they wanted to honor her in some way at the wedding. They set up her picture with flowers right in the front row of their ceremony and knew she was there as a person of honor at their special day. Unfortunately, Erin’s dad couldn’t make it to the celebration either, but he made sure to call that afternoon and told Erin how proud he was of her.
Erin’s sister got to walk her down the aisle instead which was such a sweet moment. Shortly behind, Sadie came with her parents on either side. The moment Sadie and Erin’s eyes locked, the tears started flowing. There might as well have been no on else around. The moment was so personal, intimate, and special.
Sentimental Aspects to Add to Your Wedding
One of the coolest things Erin and Sadie did prior to the wedding was take a vow writing workshop! With none other than their officiant, Cherise. This time learning how to express themselves did not disappoint! There wasn’t a dry eye on the lawn during their vows—myself included. I highly suggest taking the time to really think about what you want to say in your vows. Some people decide to pen them the morning of, but there is so much meaning in what you’re saying to your significant other that it warrants a little more attention. Expically if you have a videographer, like my husband Nathan from Ochoa Wedding Films who created the film for Erin and Sadie. Vows will be immortalized forever!
Later that evening, during sunset portraits, a rainbow popped out of the clouds. It felt like such a fitting way to end a perfect day. Erin and Sadie are so clearly meant to be together.
Modern Aisles helped coordinate the day, making sure it all flowed together. And Garden Party provided the most beautiful florals to complement the day. Vintage Ambiance add rental charm to the whole event design.
Pacific Brides nailed hair and makeup. A&bé bridal Seattle provided the dress and Indochino made the perfect suit!
And, the party was run by Orion Ent who made sure to keep the dance floor packed!
