Nicole and Eddie brought a modern twist to a 1920s inspired wedding at Imperia Lake Union in Seattle, and it fit them perfectly. From the moment we started, they leaned into what I love most as a photographer: candid moments. I give gentle guidance and light prompts so couples can move, laugh, and settle into themselves. The goal is always the same. You should open your gallery and say, “This is so us.” Nicole and Eddie did exactly that. They focused on having a good time, celebrating their people, and letting the night unfold.
Why Imperia Lake Union Works for a 1920s Inspired Wedding
Imperia Lake Union is a favorite of mine for its moody interiors, vintage character, and the pockets of dramatic light that work beautifully with a 1920s theme. If you want to see more from this venue, here is another Imperia Lake Union wedding I photographed. For Nicole and Eddie, we planned a simple flow that prioritized connection over choreography. They did amazing at this, allowing themselves to be in the moment with each other and their guests that made for magical moments in photography.
Vendor Team That Brought the Era to Life
The creative team brought the era to life without feeling like a costume. Imperia Lake Union hosted the celebration with warm hospitality and a layout that kept guests close to the action. The space encourages conversation and makes candid coverage easy.
A guest favorite was the live sketching by You As An Animal. Their character art is witty and flattering, and it gives guests a keepsake they will actually take home. Activations like this add energy to the room and photograph well.
Nathan Ochoa filmed the day with a cinematic eye. His work pairs naturally with my candid approach, which means photo and video move together without pulling you out of the moment.
The soundtrack of the evening came from Traveling Discotheque. Thoughtful song choices carried the room from cocktail hour through the last toast, keeping the vibe elegant and fun.
