Tosha is a wedding planner in Seattle, and when she asked Nathan and me to capture her intimate wedding in Santorini, Greece, I felt privileged to be asked! Greece was one of the locations on my bucket list to shoot a wedding, and in addition to going for the wedding, we planned a whole family trip! We invited Nathan’s parents and my mom to join us on the trip and made a whole thing of it! When planning a destination wedding in an epic place like Greece, one of my recommendations is to make a whole weekend out of it for you and your guests. And, of course, book your photo and video team to join you for the whole weekend of events so that you can capture everything and be in the moment.
Sunrise Session in Santorini, Greece
We started with a sunrise session with Tosha and Adam around Santorini. I loved these quiet moments to capture them in a beautiful location. With the white buildings of Santorini and the glittering blue waters as their backdrop, the whole session was stunning, and it worked out perfectly because we didn’t have a super extended amount of time on the day of to do portraits. Another perk of doing a sunrise session, besides its beautiful light, is that there are a lot fewer people around. So, usually, crowded locations with tourists are a bit quieter and can allow for more epic moments.
Sunset Boat Ride in Santorini, Greece
We didn’t stop with a sunrise session! We boarded a boat and did a sunset tour through the crystalline waters. It was a fun activity for Tosha and Adam to add to their whole weekend wedding experience. Capturing them jumping off the boat into the waters and getting out the drone to capture some cool overhead shots of them in the water was so fun! These will be their core memories as they look back at their wedding weekend.
Intimate Wedding in Santorini, Greece
Then, of course, we came to the wedding day itself! Wedding Hair by Rhianna and Reina on makeup helped complete Tosha’s look. So quaint and sweet, Tosha and Adam were surrounded by their closest people on a rooftop overlooking the bay surrounding Santorini. The views were amazing, and the emotions were real. Another One Ties the Knot, another vendor friend from Washington officiated the ceremony and it was beautiful. After saying sweet vows to one another, everyone got to sit at a luxury dinner party and continue the night with great food and good company. Afterward, we went back to the rooftop to dance in the light of a full moon. Sparklers ended the night!
Experiencing the whole wedding weekend with Tosha and Adam was an experience I’ll never forget! Everything came together so well, from the sunrise session in the streets of Santorini to the sunset boat ride to the wedding. Of course, several vendors helped make the day what it was! From coordinator Maria to venue Canaves Oia Weddings. Not to mention all those who contributed to the aesthetic of the day: Red Box Days on florals, Scripted Sketches on stationery, and Spark Event Rentals.
